The most common question I get, when talking to someone about beginning their own business, is "Does network marketing really work?" For most people unfamiliar with the industry, they find it hard to believe that building a large network of people isn't next to impossible. The fact is, everyone is involved in network marketing right now, and they are just not getting paid for it.
Have you ever found a restaurant that is just so good that you have to return over and over again? All of us have. And, what is your first reaction when you realize just how good this restaurant is; you want to share it with your friends. Now, not all of your friends will find the food there as good as you do, but many will, and they will share it with their friends as well. The truth is most businesses rely as much on word of mouth recommendations as they do on traditional marketing and advertisement. Now, wouldn't it be nice if, for your recommendation, the restaurant paid you a small percentage of what your friends spend there? What if you got paid a smaller percentage for those your friends recommended, since after all, you are responsible for them being there as well? For restaurants, movies, and a host of other businesses, this is free advertisement. When you join a network marketing business, you are actually being paid for doing what you do for free right now.
When joining a network marketing company it's very important to find one that has products and a business model that you can believe in, because, like the restaurant with the great food, you have to be excited about finding this opportunity to share it with others. And, just like the restaurant, many who you share your business with won't respond, but if the business model and opportunity to build a substantial residual income is compelling enough, you will find others that are tired of being tied to the uncertainty of a day to day job.
Network marketing does in fact work. Given the right opportunity it not only works, but it works very quickly to build an income that allows many in the industry the kind of time and financial freedom that those working in a traditional job can only dream about. Most successful network marketers are able to set schedules that allow them to work from home, 3-4 hours a day, while spending the remainder of the time for family, friends and other interests. One of the real benefits is that your business can be done from virtually anywhere. All you really need to work your business is a phone and access to the internet. You really have a business that goes where you do.
If you haven't checked into network marketing as a serious option for adding extra income and freedom to your life, I would suggest you do now. It can truly be the best decision of your life.
